The purpose of the First State Amateur Raio
Club is to
facilitate the exchange of information and cooperation among members,
to promote radio knowledge, fraternalism and individual operational
efficiency, and to conduct club programs and activities that advance
the general interest and welfare of amateur radio in the community.
Prospective members are eligible to apply for
club membership
after attending three club functions. On or after the third function,
the applicant shall submit a letter to the Secretary stating his
qualification and desires to enter the club. The membership will then
vote on the application at the earliest general club meeting.
Licensed Amateur Radio operators qualify for full membership, while
non-licensed individuals may apply for an associate membership, which
is convertible to full membership once an Amateur Radio license is
attained.
Regular meetings are held the fourth Thursday
of each calendar
month, except during November and December when meetings take place a
week earlier to void conflicts with the holidays.
The Meeting
Dates & Locations page provide the current meeting
schedule and location information.
Annual dues of $20.00 are due on January 1. Memberships whose
dues are not paid by the April meeting will be considered inactive.
New members joining after the October meeting will be assessed
dues on a prorated basis for the balance of the year.
The First State Amateur Radio Club sponsors the Delaware QSO Party,
which takes place the first full weekend in May, and participates
in the ARRL's Field Day event, taking place the fourth full weekend in
June.
